CONFERENCE FORMAT

We are excited to announce that the Waste 2023 Conference is scheduled to take place from 9-11 May 2023 at Opal Cove Resort Coffs Harbour.  

The structure

The Waste 2023 Conference will be a hybrid event featuring:

  • A face-to-face conference and exhibition; 
  • Live broadcasts of all presentations for those who cannot attend the face-to-face event; and 
  • An interactive Equipment & Technology Expo with associated presentations.

The conference program will feature a series of keynote addresses, panel discussions and workshops and will be followed by a three streamed program each day over a 3 day period allowing you to tailor your learning to your needs. 

Registration

  • All registrations are to be completed online (bookings are due to open March 2023) 
  • Delegates will be able to register and attend for the full 3 day conference, or can select a 1 or 2 day option
  • Delegates attending the face-to-face conference will be asked to nominate at the time of registration which conference streams they will be participating in. This information will be used by the organisers as a guide to room capacity limitations…program released February 2023
  • Presenters will have the option of registering for the full 3 day conference OR the day they are presenting. If selecting a one day registration, presenters will be able to attend the conference sessions (that they nominate at the time of registration) throughout that day

Sponsors and exhibitors

The indoor and outdoor exhibition layout can be found on the 'Exhibition Opportunities' page of this website:

  • A maximum of one (1) trade delegate is included when booking any indoor exhibition space 
  • Should more than one person wish to participate in the exhibition, additional indoor/outdoor trade delegate passes can be purchased separately
  • Trade delegates will be able to attend all Expo presentations on the Tuesday (located in the outdoor exhibition area). They will not be able to attend the conference presentations on Wednesday or Thursday unless a stream pass is purchased. 
  • All attendees will have access to the presentations, either via the live feed, or after the event 
  • Morning and afternoon tea will be held among our exhibitors and lunch will be located in the Horizon's Restaurant and Terrace

Onsite

  • Masks will be available for use if required and on request though are not mandatory
  • Sanitiser stations will be readily available and positioned throughout the venue
  • Delegates are advised to exercise care and courtesy and are requested to follow social distancing where practicable
  • Should a delegate present with any cold or flu like symptoms, they will be asked to leave the conference

Social events

There will be three (3) social events as usual

  • Welcome Reception (Tuesday 9th May) – this will take place outside among the outdoor exhibitors (weather permitting) 
  • Conference Dinner (Wednesday 10th May) – This will take place at Pacific Bay Resort and will begin outdoors (weather permitting) to enable maximum networking opportunities. A seated (themed) dinner will take place inside
  • Finale Buffet (Thursday 11th May) – this will take place in the Horizon’s Restaurant and on the Terrace (weather permitting)

Cancellations

  • If a delegate needs to cancel due to COVID related reasons beyond their control (positive COVID test, lock down, travel restrictions, unwell or other government related restrictions) a substitute from your organisation is welcome. If this is not possible please discuss with conference staff
  • If the event is cancelled due to reasons beyond our control, a full refund of delegate fees will be issued

Disclaimer

Should COVID restrictions change between now and the time of the conference the above will be revised accordingly. Should capacity limitations be re-introduced, attendance will be accepted on a first in basis. Delegates will be notified if their booking needs to be cancelled as a result and a refund will be issued.
