Social Events

Networking is a central element of the Waste 2027 experience, with three signature social events designed to help delegates connect, unwind and celebrate in a relaxed setting. 

Full Conference Package registrations include access to all three networking events. For single- and two-day attendees, social events can be added on registration.

Welcome Reception - Tuesday 4th May, 5.30pm - Opal Cove Resort

Taking place on Tuesday 4 May from 5.30pm–7.30pm, the Welcome Reception will be held outdoors among the exhibits at Opal Cove Resort (weather permitting). Delegates can enjoy complimentary drinks and light standing refreshments while reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new colleagues, and exploring the wide range of products and emerging technologies on display.  

The evening then continues at Horizons Bar from 8.00–11.00pm, where a relaxed post‑reception gathering will extend the entertainment and create further opportunities for networking.

Conference Dinner - Wednesday 5th May, 6.15pm - Pacific Bay Resort

The conference dinner will begin with pre-dinner drinks from 6.15pm outdoors on the Fairway amongst the resort’s stunning grounds (weather permitting), before moving indoors for a lively themed evening of great food, celebration and fun.

The conference dinner is always a highlight, with delegates embracing the opportunity to dress up in theme (theme TBC). Dressing to impress is essential and prizes will be awarded. 

Complimentary shuttle transport will run between venues at the beginning and end of the night.

Finale Buffet - Thursday 6th May, 6.30pm - Opal Cove Resort

The conference finale buffet will be held at the Horizons Restaurant and its outdoor terrace (weather permitting). It’s the perfect way to conclude your Waste 2027 experience with a relaxed evening featuring buffet dining, live music and a warm, casual atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to unwind, share a final catch‑up with friends old and new, and enjoy one last celebration before farewelling delegates for another year.
