Tim Silverwood is an environmentalist passionate about reducing human impacts on our oceans and broader environment. An avid surfer, Tim became alarmed at the increasing threats plastic posed to oceans and wildlife, co-founding the organisation ‘Take 3 for the Sea’ in 2009. As CEO of Take 3, he aims to reduce plastic pollution through education and participation by asking people to simply take 3 pieces of rubbish with them when they leave the beach, waterway or…anywhere. Tim is also founder of ReChusable, an enviro-enterprise providing reusable alternatives to disposable products; he is a spokesperson for the Boomerang Alliance; a consultant to government and industry and was the 2014 NSW Government Green Globe Sustainability Champion. Tim’s story is entertaining and inspiring, reminding us that anyone and everyone can be a change-maker. Passionate about disrupting unsustainable consumption and embracing a circular economy, Tim is motivated to transform the way we make, purpose, dispose and think about ‘stuff’.
