Ian Malouf founded the Group as Dial A Dump Pty Ltd in 1984 when he commenced a waste transportation and disposal business. He has successfully and dramatically grown the business acquiring in the process an impressive commercial and industrial real estate portfolio whilst ensuring that his business always operated at the leading edge of technology. In 2001 his Group acquired the Alexandria Landfill site formerly owned by the Sydney City Council. This site quickly became a commercial success and dramatically expanded its recycling and resource recovery activities in line with NSW Government stated aims of reducing waste going to landfills. In 2006 the Alexandria Landfill Group acquired 16 Ha of land at Eastern Creek and carried out the extended process of environmental assessment and planning for a state of the art recycling facility. The Genesis site was developed and built and opened for commercial operation in 2012. The Group has now directed its expansion focus to establish a significant EfW (Energy from Waste) facility to compliment the Genesis Facility with the aim of creating the most integrated and sophisticated waste facility in the World.
