Thomas Freeman - Managing Director

Thomas is Managing Director of Impact Environmental Consulting (IEC), having started at the company in 2013. 

His waste management expertise spans projects across Australia, connecting technical, regulatory, and community aspects. From grant management to landfill closures, and targeted training he's a versatile waste specialist. He seeks to balance bottom-up local needs with the top-down state outcomes.

Thomas is heavily involved in the planning and execution of the Coffs Harbour Waste Conference. 

Connie Button - Conference Director

Connie began working with Impact Environmental Consulting in 2011 as Conference Director of the Coffs Waste Conference. 

Connie has over 25 years’ experience in marketing, event management and managerial positions. Her core focus is the execution of the Coffs Waste Conference each year, but with her own Marketing and Event Management business 'Flametree Marketing & Events', she also assists other organisations with their events..

Connie has a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Marketing and Management from the University of Wollongong, NSW.

Amelia Flynn - Conference Administrator

Amelia joined Impact Environmental Consulting in 2024 as the Conference and Events Administrator for the Coffs Waste Conference.

Before moving from New Zealand to Australia at the end of 2018, Amelia held event management positions for prominent New Zealand and Australasian membership organisations.  Taking a break from the event industry to become an internationally certified Baby and Child Sleep Consultant, Amelia now divides her time between her own sleep consultancy business and Impact Environmental.

Amelia holds an LLB(Hons) from the University of Canterbury and a Graduate Diploma in Event Management from CPIT in New Zealand.

Kate Baker - Conference Assistant

Kate began working with Impact Environmental in 2022 as a Conference Assistant with the Coffs Waste Conference. 

Kate has a background in events management and administration positions working with local government, not-for-profit organisations, community groups and local businesses. 

Kate has a Bachelor of Business in Convention and Events Management.
